Like Father, Like Son – Tuesday 12th November, 6 pm
When high flyer Ryota and his wife Midori get an unexpected phone call from the hospital telling them that they were given the wrong baby and their 6 year old son is not theirs, they are forced to make a life-changing decision to choose between their natural child, raised by a rough yet caring family, or the child they’ve raised in a world dedicated to hard work and social climbing. This is a moving story of a man who suddenly has to decide what is truly valuable in life.
Join us after the 6 pm showing of Like Father, Like Son on Tues 12th Nov to hear speakers from Cardiff University explore themes including family and kinship, Japanese culture and responsibility, and consequences of genetic testing.
The usual refreshments will be provided.
Tickets for the film are £4.40. Tickets to the sciSCREEN discussion event are free but must be booked over the phone (02920 304400) or from the ticket desk in Chapter. This event will be held in the usual Media Point room which is up the stairs near Chapter’s main entrance.
This sciSCREEN event is sponsored by the Wales Gene Park
